Today we went to Sears to get pictures with Trip, Kal, and Darren for Mother's Day for my mom. It was a very tiring experience, but really fun! The boys were all great. Trip was awake the whole time, unfortunately not in a really smiley mood! It is nice to have them all together. Kal is 3 and a 1/2, Darren will be 1 on May 25, and Trip will be 12 weeks next Thursday! Pasting this link on your browser should work to see the pictures.

Sleepover

Our nephew Kal came over tonight to have a sleepover. He and Trip took a bath together, then lounged on the bed watching Tom and Jerry. Kal loves Tom and Jerry and the old school type cartoons. Trip loved having a buddy in the bath and watched Kal the whole time. Kal can't wait for Uncle Kelsey (Jessie as Kal says) to come home to play X-men on X-box, read him a story, and "lay for two minutes" with him. I used to think Kal was so little, now compared to Trip he is huge!! I love having a house full!

A Few April Pictures of Our Chubby

So I know I am not the greatest with keeping the blog updated. I will try to do a better job of it in the future. Trip's gas/tummy issues are getting better. It seems to really be a reflection of what mom eats, so I have cut everything out! We feel totally blessed to have such a wonderful son. Sometimes we still can't believe he is ours! I was definitely put on earth to be a mom (now if only I can talk Kels into having a baseball team)! He is still waking up about every 3 hours to eat. He has his dad's appetite, but mom's too as I love to eat!! One of my best friends from school, Blair, is coming to visit us next week. We hope to spark some baby fever in her, so Trip can have a southern cousin!! Then later in May Kelsey's dad and stepmom are coming for a golf getaway with us for a few days. The smiling pic is with my mom. He smiles the biggest for his nana so far. Kels and I are trying hard to get those smiles too.

Trip is 12 days old!
I can't believe he is 12 days old already. Kelsey and I are absolutely loving being parents. We sit and stare at him all the time. We had his first pediatrician appointment last Thursday and everything went great. When he was born he weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and when we left the hospital on Saturday he weighed 6lbs. 8 oz. and at the doctor's appointment our chubby was up to 7 lbs. 5 oz. They said he was gaining weight great and didn't need to see us until he was 6 weeks. He is making a lot of little noises that are hilarious. Sometimes he sounds like a little horse. We are so blessed to have such a healthy, beautiful baby. We couldn't ask for anything more in our lives.

TRIP IS HERE!!
Trip Nixon Tomyn is here!! He was born on Feb. 21, 2008 at 11:40 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds and 13 oz. and was 21 inches long. He arrived about two weeks early and is completely healthy. My water broke on Wednesday (2/20/08) night at about 11:30, we dropped Canusa off at my parents house then headed to the hospital. I was having contractions all night and into the first part of the morning and got an epidural at around 9-9:30 a.m. With every contraction I had, Trip's heartrate would slow down and at times seemed to even stop. My doctor said he wanted me to have a c-section if this didn't change soon. It didn't change so I delivered Trip via c-section at 11:40 a.m. Hearing him cry for the first time was the most amazing thing ever. The c-section went smoothly (a lot of pressure during it). I was a little freaked out that I would feel them cut into me, but I thankfully could not. His cord was wrapped around his right shoulder and the back of his neck when he came out. That is what was causing his heart rate to drop. We were in the hospital for a few days, but are home now loving every minute. I could not have asked for a more supportive, loving husband during this experience. Kels is definitely one of a kind.
